Tips to find job comfortably.
Story Time:
CEO of one of the renowned companies I worked for found himself a job by knocking on the doors of that company.
I too found a job for me by cold-calling on employers.
A CEO is a comparatively less known person than a huge film star.
Can you imagine a top Indian Film star gulping his ego and knocking on the doors of producers to find employment for himself?
Most people find it beneath their egos to ask other people for jobs or get employment.
They may suffer silently or get employed at bad places but won't go out and request people for jobs or search for a job by knocking on the doors of potential employers.
Right?
But that star has something bigger in his mind than his Ego.
In his prime he was a big egoist.
He was called one man industry at the peak of his film career.
But every peak has a valley.
He too hit his valley when a few of his films flopped.
Suddenly he became an unbankable film star.
Few films came his way.
Down in film career, he started a film company called ABCL.
His company hired CEO from a top cola company in the hope that that CEO will make the company successful.
But it is one thing to work successfully at an already successful company and quite another to build a company from scratch.
No wonder, ABCL failed miserably under that CEO and the promoter of the company Mr.Amitabh Bachchan suffered huge losses.
He was in debt in excess of Rs. 70 crores.
To make matters worse for him, he was unemployed in the evening of his film career.
He was unemployed.
But he is a man of steel.
Instead of waiting for film offers he started knocking on the doors of film producers.
At peak of his film career, producers waited for his dates for their films.
But now, the same star did not let his ego come in the path of getting a job as an actor.
One producer offered him a Role in his film at a fee of Rs.50lakhs.

It was a low film fee for AB, but he accepted the role as he needed money.
The film was Mohabattein with Top star of those times Shahrukh Khan.
And then Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) burst on the scene for AB.
Rest is history.
Moral: Where there is a need for job, there will be ways to get a job.
There is no dearth of jobs anywhere on earth.
This is a simple truth.
Another equally simple truth is that there is no dearth of unemployed persons on this earth.
In nutshell.
One of many paradoxes in life is the paradox that there are a lot of jobs to be done and there are a lot of unemployed people.
Any person willing to get employed will find employment.
On the other hand, an unemployed person with a poor attitude won't find a job in months.
Necessity is the mother of all inventions.
Most people are unable to find a job due to the following reasons:
- Because they have poor self-esteem.
People with poor or weak self-images often have low confidence issues. They assume that they do not have the necessary skills or that no one will employ them.
All such people who think this way are wrong about their abilities and their skills.
But their lack of self-esteem acts as a big roadblock in helping them get a job.
- Because they are lazy.
Because of self-esteem issues, such people keep on delaying the decisions to find jobs themselves.
They always postpone the act of finding or applying for the job to the next day.
That next day never comes.
- Because they think that only intelligent people get jobs.
After having been in the corporate sector, I have seen many undeserving people in jobs. Similarly, I have seen many deserving and skilled people being out of jobs.
Most of deserving people do not get jobs becuase they fail to show up in interviews or job applications.
Just by applying to jobs and showing up for job interviews improves chances of getting a job.
Agree?
So any one who is serious to land a job will not remain unemployed for long.

So every job seeker should be serious about finding a job.
If you are in the job market for a long then do not look for a job that suits you or a job that is a perfect match for your abilities.
The very first priority of jobless people should be to become financially independent.
Financial independence brings a lot of benefits in its wake.
Financially independent people are more likely to make rational decisions than people who are not financially independent.
Lack of financial independence often makes people take decisions under stress or emotional upheaval. Such decisions can be wrong.
So try being financially independent first anyhow.
Right jobs can be discovered later on with a calm mind free of financial worries.
To search for an entry-level job commensurate with your qualification, skill, and knowledge.
Prepare a resume for yourself highlighting your qualification, skills, knowledge, abilities etc.
Meet prospective employers as per your qualification, knowledge, and skills, and leave your brief resume with them.
Take their contact number.
Call them after some time to inquire about any job available.
This follow-up will highlight your need for a job.
Leave your resume with placement consultants.
Another important source to find jobs to upgrade skills and get some experience under belt as per your skills are Classified pages of newspapers.

Carefully go through the wanted columns in classified pages of the local newspaper.
You can place your own candidature in the classified column of the local newspaper to showcase your skills, knowledge, and abilities for specific jobs.
Search for jobs as per your skills, knowledge, and education in internet job portals by visiting these job portals.
In the beginning, if you have to compromise on salary, then do it as your prime goal should be to have a job and earn experience and become financially independent.

Most people confuse a job with getting a job with someone else.
Another meaning of a job is employment.
There is no better job in this world than being in your 'own job'.
Give yourself a job by employing yourself as your first employee.
If all this seems too much hard work, then start your own small business with a small amount.
If you don't have ego issues, then there are many businesses that can be started with small money like opening a vegetable or fruit vending stall or opening a tea or co,ffee shop etc.
Now please do not frown over opening a tea shop.
Do not get worried about society's reaction to your small venture.
Society has a very short memory and forgets everything when that small business becomes successful.
I live in Mohali.
In phase V of Mohali, one of the most successful businesses is Amrit confectionary.
It sells premium products at premium prices.
People do not bargain at this plush shop for the fear of being looked at as too low.
The shop employs many workers which produce a huge turnover for the shop.
The owner of the shop has three other big showrooms in the restaurant business.
The business owner now has assets worth 50 crores and above.
But all was not so easy for that shop owner in the 1980s.
He was running a small bakery and supplying pastries with his son to small bakery shops in Mohali.
He supplied his wares to shops that were way bigger than his business.
But 36 years later this person selling pastries shop to shop has a bigger brand and more assets than all those big shops of the 1980s.
He grew big time. Stopped selling the shop to shop in the 2000s.
You can see such examples in almost every city in the world, where someone dared to employ him/herself.
MBA chaiwala is one such business.
A certain Mr.Billore started a small tea shop against the wishes of his parents.
Unable to crack CAT after a few attempts, he started his own tea stall.

His Name is Prafull Billore.
And thus was born MBA (aka Mr. Billore of Ahmedabad) Chaiwala.
He is not MBA-qualified.
But he has started a successful business without any business management degree.
He sold tea from his stall as his classmates were studying business management in college.
Soon he built up the business.
He stopped making tea himself and instead employed workers to prepare tea while he managed the business.
A few years after starting his business venture, he started offering franchisees of his business.
Now educated people to pay lacs to get franchisee of MBA Chaiwala.

Instead of worrying about getting a job post MBA, Mr.Billore now offers jobs and employment to others.
His smiling face adores the brand MBA Chaiwala.
What a job he did by employing himself in his venture.
Any work which gets employment is not bad.
Any job which puts bread and butter on the table is the best religion in the world.
That way you will become your own employer.
And who knows sooner you may be offering jobs to others if your business does well.

If you are experienced or well qualified, then you can always register yourself on job portals online.
These portals are not very effective in getting a job, but still, you must treat them as one of the options to land a job commensurate to your education and skills.
Cover this base too.

It is never a bad idea to spread your job search net as far and wide as possible.
Another way to spread your job net wider is to join Linkedin.
People find jobs through this platform too, though I did not find it effective in finding a job.
But still you should cover this base too in your search for a suitable job as per your education and skills.
