Try this simple tip to Increase Your Day's Sales Productivity"

Rahul,a Territory Sales Incharge, is deeply engrossed in discussion with a prospect to sell his product/service.

He has worked hard through sales call to arouse interest of customer.

The customer is on the verge of making up his/her mind to buy the product, before something happens...

Rahul is looking expectantly towards prospect for sales order, when his mobile phone burrrs in his pant pocket.

The mobile ringging just breaks the rhythm between Rahul and his prospect.

Whole sales flow of Rahul crumbles as he takes up the sales call.

This ringtone of your mobile disturbs your thought process and the thought process of your customer. Suddenly this mobile phone interuption transports you and your customer to an environment different from your current environment which you took time to create .

You just reach for your phone to see the caller and by the time you get back to your customer after attending the phone or silencing the phone, you find that the atmosphere between you and your customer has changed.

After returning to your customer post your mobile phone break ,you discover that either of following things have happened in your equation with your customer

i) Either the customer who was on the verge of buying your product/service is no longer that gung ho about your product/service as he/she was before mobile phone interuption.

Ii) Or if you are lucky ,you may discover that customer is no longer willing to place as big an order as s/he was willing before the mobile phone interruption.

III) Or worse still, some other emergency has caught the attention and fancy of the customer be it he/she is busy dealing with a customer of his/her,or attending to some of queries from his/her staff etc.

In any of the above three scenarios, you have to literally start from zero once again to build rapport with your customer to help him/her make up mind to buy your product/service. It is really very very frustrating to repeat the whole process of generating Interest,Desire of customer in your products/service to motivate him/her buy your products/service.

Besides the loss of attention of customer due to mobile phone interuption, it appears very insulting to the customer when the sales professional turns to attend his/her mobile phone. This behaviour of sales professional makes customer feel less important in the scheme of things for sales professional.

Sounds familiar ? This script is repeated almost every working day in the life of most of the sales professionals the world over. So mobile which was supposed to be an assistant of sales professionals becomes their nemesis.

So how to get rid of this mobile phone nuisance while calling on customers ? Here is a simple tip to MANAGE your mobile phone to let it assist you in performance of your job than be a nuisance.

To increase your day's productivity, before starting your work day you must develop habit of putting your phone in your working bag, keeping the same in silent mode and non-vibrating mode while working.

To avoid communication gap among your channel partners and your colleagues and your family members, you must make them aware of this habit of yours about MANAGING your mobile phone while calling on customers. Their knowledge of this habit of yours will not create negative impression among them if you do not attend to their mobile phone calls during the day.

Then after two hours of work on each working day ,you can take your mobile phone out of your working bag to check and respond to missed calls and unread messages. By sticking to this easy approach to manage your mobile phone, you will not only increase your sales productivity, but also make more number of sales calls in a single day and also ensuring higher customer satisfaction.

With a little practice ,you can not only develop this habit ,but also master it to become a role model for your colleagues.
